Wind, Sand, and Ice at Mentor Headlands

The temps were in the mid-60s - very warm for February. It also was very windy but the walk was tolerable on the dunes trail.  When we spotted some huge ice chunks on the Lake Erie shoreline, we took the dunes trail that led to the beach to get a closer look. Outside the protection of the dunes, the wind was so strong that it was difficult to walk into. When we saw what looked like a sandstorm coming our way, I snapped a few quick photos and we headed back to the dunes trail before we were sandblasted. Enjoy the photos!
