Cleveland’s “New” Public Square

Today, after many months of construction, Cleveland’s Public Square is being rededicated. We visited yesterday and we were impressed at the feel of the revamped space. One street has been completely removed from the site, giving the Square a more expansive feels. (One street space remains in the center but appears to be for temporary use, not for constant traffic.) Grassy hills have been added and the view of the surrounding buildings, (such as the Terminal Tower) from the tops of these hills has never been better. Some photos are below.

We also took a walk down the street to visit the now iconic LeBron James giant poster. I’ve added a photo of my husband at this location – for your amusement!

Downtown Cleveland Christmas Holiday Lights

With decent weather on Saturday night (meaning no rain or snow), we decided to head to downtown Cleveland to check out the Christmas holiday lights at Public Square, in Tower City (at Terminal Tower) and at The Arcade. Here are a few photos plus a short video. Enjoy! (Sorry for the windy noise in the video – it was a little breezy that night.)

A Tour of Cleveland In Vintage Postcards

Here’s something that anyone from Cleveland, Ohio may enjoy. The short video below is a nostalgic tour of the city of Cleveland that I put together using vintage postcards from the 1930s-1950s. It includes postcards of the Terminal Tower, city roads and bridges, Public Square, University Circle, public parks, and other buildings of interest. (The music in the video is one of Gershwin’s Preludes.)
